Acer is planning to launch a notebook with a 3D screen in October of this year. The notebook will have support for 3D movies and in addition can convert standard 2D movies into 3D. Acer will use a 3D screen for the notebook and asking user to install their Aspire 3D software to activate the 3D display.
The 3D notebook will come with Windows 7; Acer will not officially announce the notebook until Microsoft has launches the OS officially presented.
The 15.6-inch notebook is being developed in association with Wistron, and features built-in software which can convert regular 2D movies to 3D and directly support 3D movies. Users will need to wear stereoscopic glasses to see the 3D effects;
In addition to Windows and Android models, Acer is also working on its third-generation netbook, which will feature a similar concept as MIDs or smartbooks with strong network connectivity and convenience, and it targeting a launch in the second of third quarter of 2010.
