Acer’s latest version of the Aspire One 531 netbook finally gets official. Appearing on the company’s Germany website, the netbook is now dubbed as the Acer Aspire One Pro 531, reports Slashgear.This sleek professional-looking netbook has a solid black casing and robust features. Although this mini-laptop is portable and light in weight, it gives users a fast and efficient performance.
The Aspire One 531 is powered by a 1.66GHz Atom N280 on a 667MHz bus .The netbook packs in a 2.5” hard Drive with to 250 GB or 2.5” SSD with up to 64 GB.It measures 255 x 202 x 31mm, and weighs 1.12kg with the 3-cell battery or 1.27kg with the 6-cell pack. Runtime is estimated at up to 3hrs for the 3-cell and up to 7.5hrs for the 6-cell.With a 10” WSVGA Acer CrystalBrite LED backlit TFT LCD display that has a resolution of around 1024 x 600, the netbook is based on the Genuine Windows XP Professional/Vista Business/XP Home Edition OS. With a single SODIMM slot memory channel, the netbook includes a DDR2 533/667 MHz SDRAM memory interface design.
With a 1.6 minimum keystroke, The keyboard is 89-percent the size of a standard keyboard whilst its touchpad will support multi-touch, pinch-action zoom and page flip, 12 function keys, 4 cursor keys, 2 Windows keys, hotkey controls, integrated numeric keypad, and support for international languages. Comprising of a multi-in-1 card reader, the netbook offers support for high-definition audio, two built-in stereo speakers and an integrated digital microphone. The MS-sound compatible netbook also comprises of a built-in Acer Crystal Eye webcam that supports Acer PrimaLite technology and has a resolution of 0.3 megapixels.
Additional features of the netbook are 3 USB 2.0 ports, security options like Security BIOS user, supervisor and HDD passwords Kensington Lock slot, Acer Recovery Management, eSobi, Energy Star 4.0 and many other advanced software applications. Communications Applications incorporated in the netbook are Acer Video Conference Manager 4.0 and Windows Live Essentials consisting of Wave 3 (mail, photo gallery, Live Messenger, and Writer). Connectivity options included are Acer SignalUp wireless technology, Acer InviLink Wi-Fi, Bluetooth.There’s no word on the exact pricing or availability of the Acer Aspire One Pro 531 netbook.
