Asus has launched the new G60J, G51J and M60J notebooks with the Intel Core i7 processor. Asus M60J features an Intel Core i7 720QM processor running at 1.6 GHz while G60J features Intel Core i7 820QM processor clocked 1.73 GHz.
The M60J notebook has a 16” LED HD 1366 x 768 resolution glossy color-shine screen and features an Nvidia GT240M with 1 GB of memory. It runs Genuine Windows Vista Ultimate/Business/Premium or Basic operating system. The ASUS M60J also features AI TouchMedia, a one-touch multimedia center with an intuitive control panel that combines both hardware and software interfaces to control the playback of videos, photographs, music, and other forms of multimedia.
The M60J features the Intel Core i7 720QM 1.6GHz or 820QM 1.73GHz CPU, up to 4GB of DDR3 memory. The hard drive consists of a 2.5” 250/320/500GB SATA which works at the rate of 5400/7200 rpm and provides additional HDD support of up to 1TB.
The M60J sports the red dot design award-winning Chocolate Keyboard which features concave key-caps and tighter key-spacing to minimize dust accumulation and improve water resistance. Asus M60J notebook measures 37.5 x 26.5 x 3.43~4.06 cm and weigh 3.3 kg with 6 cell battery. Other features include Altec Lansing speakers, Dolby 2 Home Theater certification and a DVD burner or Blu-ray combo drive.
The two gaming notebook, the G60J and G51J, are available with 16-inch and 15.6-inch LED HD -backlit displays with resolutions of up to 1366 x 768 and 1920 x 768 respectively.
These notebooks promise to deliver high 3D performance via an Intel Core i7 processor and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M graphics card with 1GB VRAM, together achieving an incredible 3DMark 2006 score of well over 11,000. It is bundled with the Turbo Boost technology that super-charges CPU performance from 1.73GHz to 3.06GHz on the Intel Core i7-820QM.
The G60J backs the quad-core mobile processor with 4GB of DDR RAM, a pair of 500GB 7200rpm hard drives, a Blu-ray combo drive and Altec Lansing speakers, Mobile Intel PM55 chipset, Windows 7 Ultimate/Windows 7 Home Premium,. Finally, the new ASUS G Series is equipped with an illuminated chiclet keyboard which enables users to game in the dark. With dimensions of around 375mm x 265mm x 34.3~40.6mm, the notebooks weigh 3.3kg with 6-cell battery.
The laptops also features built-in 2MP webcam, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet Port, Express Card Expansion slot, VGA port, HDMI port, Firewire port, 4 USB slots and an eSata port.
The details regarding the availability and pricing of the two are yet to be unveiled.
