RIM has announced the launch of a new touchscreen as well as QWERTY smartphone namely Blackberry Torch 9800. Blackberry Torch runs Blackberry 6 operating system and is powered by 624 Mhz processor.

Blackberry Torch 9800 features 3.2 inch HVGA touchscreen display with a resolution of 480x 360 pixels, slide out QWERTY keyad, optical trackpad, 5 megapixel autofocus camera with2x digital zoom and flash, VGA video recording, 512 MB flash memory, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card.
Blackberry Torch supports Tri-band 3G UMTS, Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE network and features WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR, Bluetooth Stereo Audio, 3.5mm stereo headset and GPS. It also features full HTML browser, social networking integration, Blackberry internet service and BlackBerry Desktop Software 6 with integrated Media Sync for easy synchronization of music, photos and videos.
It measures of 111 x 62 x 14.6 mm and weighs161 grams. It is powered by 1300 mAh battery that provides up to 5.8 hours of talk time or 336 hours of standby time.
The BlackBerry Torch will be available through AT&T for $199.99 from August 12 with a two year service agreement.
