Canon Japan announced two new AVCHD camcorders , the iVIS HF21 and iVIS HF S11 both come with 64GB internal storage and support SD and SHDC cards (up to 32GB). They can record AVCHD video at up to 24Mbps with a resolution of 1920 x 1080. Both camcorders are equipped with Canon’s DIGIC DV III image processor.
The iVIS HD S11 has a 1/2.6-inch CMOS capable of up to 8-megapixel stills, while the iVIS HF21 gets a 1/4-inch CMOS and up to 4-megapixel stills. Each has optical stabilization, an optical zoom (10x in the HF S11; 15x in the HF21) and face-detection, together with a 2.7-inch wide-aspect LCD preview screen.
The size of the iVIS HF21 is 124×70×62 mm and weight is about 400g includes with batteries and accessories. Canon iVIS HF S11 has dimensions 136×70×69 mm and weighs about 500g. These camcorders incorporate ports like USB, AV, headphones and microphone-input. The iVIS HF21 also bundles up an underwater kit.
The camcorders will be available sometime in early August in Japan and other markets should follow soon. The pricing details are still unknown.
