Dell believes that every student should have the tools and learning opportunities in order to integrate successfully into the digital world. For these reasons, Dell has launched their Latitude 2100, a rugged netbook which has been designed for students and especially for children who are from kindergarten through to the 12th grade.
It is available with either a traditional 10.1 inch LCD display or an optional one-point touchscreen with 1024 x 576 resolution, the Inspiron 2100 will also come with an Intel Atom N270 processor, runs on Windows Vista, Windows XP and Ubuntu 8.10 OS, optional virus-preventing anti-microbial keyboard.
The new Latitude 2100 Netbook is available in colors Gold School Bus, Chalkboard Black, Ball Field Green, Blue Ribbon and Red Schoolhouse. The cpu choice Dell is the known solution for Intel Atom N270 in combination with the Intel chipset 945GSE. The SSD offer up to 16GB of storage and the hard drive offers 250GB. Connectivity options include 10/100/1000 gigabit Ethernet, wireless LAN and Bluetooth 2.1 and WiFi.
A 3in1 card reader, 2 speakers and VGA interface, audio jack, Gigabit Ethernet and USB 2.0 ports 3, completes the equipment. The weight of 1.32Kg with a 3-cell battery, measures 10.4 x 7.4 x 9.16 inches. The standard battery is 3 cell, but there is an option with 6 cells too.
The Dell Latitude 2100 netbooks is available at the suggested price of $ 369 and will be sold through Dell Direct and Dell channel partners.
