HP has introduced a new notebook sub-brand dubbed HP ENVY; the HP Envy 13 and HP Envy 15. The new HP ENVY 13 boasts the brightest display in its class, and the HP ENVY 15 is the company’s fastest consumer notebook PC ever.
The HP Envy 13 features a 13.1-inch WXGA screen with 82% color gamut, and 410 nit brightness. With 82% color gamut (versus standard 45-60%), photos should appear richer with amazing color depth. Additionally, with fast 8-millisecond response time, customers can view movies with TV-like performance.
Packed with Intel’s Core 2 Duo processors, the ENVY 13 is less than one inch thin and weighs in at 3.74 pound features that are due to the system’s aluminum-and-magnesium chassis. It also includes Beats Audio, which is designed to deliver professinal-grade sound and HP QuickWeb for getting online without going through Windows.
Other features of the Envy 13 include ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 discrete graphics and the Intel integrated graphics processor, VGA Webcam, and the usual custom choices for RAM and HDD and ATI Radeon HD 4330 Slim Fit extended life battery which provides up to 18 hours of battery life.
The HP Envy 15 has a larger a 15.6-inch, high-resolution, LED backlit display and is packed with Intel’s latest quad-core Core i7 processor. The Envy 15’s magnesium alloy casing has a laser-etched design on the lid and palmrest.
The laptop can be featured with up to 16GB of DDR3 1066MHz system memory, configurable in the four available SODIMM memory slots, coupled with the high-performance, discrete ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4830 graphics card with 1GB of graphics memory.
The system is featured with and incorporates a Nightvision VGA webcam which can be used during low-light or zero-light conditions. It also comes with an optional Slim Fit extended-life notebook battery, delivering up to seven hours of battery life. The Envy 15 measures one-inch thick and weighs 5.18 pounds. It also features Beats Audio technology and QuickWeb instant-on functionality.
Connectivity includes WiFi a/g/n, Bluetooth, gigabit Ethernet, two USB 2.0 ports (three on the Envy 15, the third being a combo eSATA/USB), HDMI and audio in/out, together with a 2-in-1 memory card slot, the Envy 13 has a 250GB 5,400rpm hard-drive, while the Envy 15 kicks that up to a 320GB 7,200rpm drive.
The HP Envy 13 and Envy 15 are now available in the United States with a starting price of $1699 and $1799, respectively.
