HP has launched two new netbooks which include an 11.6 inch netbook powered by NVIDIA’s ION chipset dubbed as HP Mini 311 netbook and a stylish Mini 110.
The HP Mini 311 sports a high resolution 1366 x 768 display and is powered by a 1.6GHz N270 Atom CPU and a 1GB DDR3 RAM card.
The laptop features NVIDIA ION graphics for handling HD video and graphics. NVIDIA ION is a small but powerful graphics processing unit (GPU) that works together with a low-power CPU to generate exceptional performance for compact, energy-efficient systems. The Mini also includes ArcSoft SimHD, which instantly converts most standard-definition video to near high-definition quality.
The other specifications of the device include 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Altec Lansing speakers, a 5-in-1 digital media reader, three USB 2.0 ports, a 92% full sized keyboard, a six-cell battery, and 160GB hard disk drive with a speed of 5400rpm. It includes HDMI and VGA video connectors. It will ship with Microsoft’s Windows XP operating system. Measuring 28.9 x 20.4 x 3.06, it weighs in at 1.46kg. It comes in black and white color.
The HP Mini 110 is a more stylish Mini 110 with a design by Studio Tord Boontje, featuring white-on-white layers of flower and plant patterns. This netbook features a new 3D design that gives the illusion that the animals in the design are floating on different layers.
The HP Mini 110 features a 10.1-inch, mercury-free LED display and a 92 percent of full-size keyboard. Measuring over and inch in thickness, the netbook weighs just 2.68 pounds. It comes with Windows 7 Starter edition and will be available as that operating system launches. The specs are an Intel Atom N270 1.6 Ghz, 160GB Hard Drive, 1024 x 576 resolution, built-in webcam, wifi 802.11b/g. the netbook also packs in built-in tools like Windows Live Writer desktop icon.
Both HP Mini models will feature HP QuickSync software for automatic synchronization and back up of data with home PC wirelessly.
The HP Mini 311 will cost at $399 and will be available with Windows XP on Sept 23, 2009 and with Windows 7 Premium on Oct 18, 2009. The HP Mini 110 with Windows 7 Starter will be available on Oct 18, 2009 for $399.
