Hewlett Packard has unveiled its new HP ProBook S-series Notebook for business professionals. The ProBook S-series follows HP’s EliteBook series notebooks.The entire ProBook line comes with either Windows Vista (of various flavors) or SuSE Linux preinstalled. All models offer four USB ports, an HDMI-Out port, and an ExpressCard/34 slot. HP ProBook S-series include two 14-inch screen notebooks, two 15.6-inch display notebooks and one 17.3-inch display notebook.
HP ProBook 4410s (Intel) and HP ProBook 4415s (AMD)Feature a 14-inch diagonal 16:9 HD widescreen LED backlight display, integrated optical drive with Blu-ray option and choice of ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 or Intel GMA X4500 HD graphics controller. Wireless connectivity includes standard Wi-Fi and optional integrated Bluetooth.
HP ProBook 4510s (Intel) and HP ProBook 4515s (AMD) Offers a 15.6-inch diagonal 16:9 HD widescreen LED backlight display. Customers can select the optional HP Mobile Broadband connectivity with built-in Gobi technology. They also feature an integrated numeric keypad and come with an 8-cell, 63Wh battery.
The big HP ProBook 4710s (Intel) features 17.3-inch Widescreen HD LED Backlit screen with 1600×900 pixel resolution. This notebook has Intel processor options paired with Intel Mobile PM45 Express Chipset and has ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 with 512MB video memory and an integrated numeric keypad.
All HP ProBooks come with HP Smart AC adapters that allow the notebooks to automatically make power adjustments as needed. The ProBook models are mercury-free, have an Electronic Products Environmental Assessment Tool silver rating, and are ENERGY STAR qualified. The ProBook models are also compatible with HP’s USB 2.0 docking station.
Pricing for the HP ProBook series starts at $529. As for color choices, all three versions will ship in “glossy noir” black first; a “merlot” option will become available in June for the 14- and 15-inch models.
