HTC has announced the launch of its third Android-based smartphone, HTC Hero in India. This handset will come loaded with intuitive HTC Sense user interface. HTC Sense UI boasts of three major features – gesture control, widgets support and integration of different apps in single view.
HTC Hero has beveled edges and an angled bottom and is contoured to fit in the hand and against the face while on a call. The phone is equipped with an anti-fingerprint screen coating that offers enhanced smudge resistance. The feature also provides a longer lasting and clearer display. The white HTC Hero includes Teflon coating.
HTC Hero features a 3.2-inch HVGA (320×280) TFT-LCD touchscreen display, a 5-megapixel camera with auto focus, built-in GPS receiver, gravity-sensor, a 3.5mm stereo headset jack, a dedicated search button, digital compass, expandable MicroSD memory, as well as Web and multimedia enhancements.
Additionally, it also provides a dedicated Search button that goes beyond basic search, providing you with a more natural, contextual search experience that enables you to search through Twitter, locate people in your contact list, finds emails in your inbox or search in any other area in Hero.
The HTC Hero comes with a special offer for Airtel users in India, wherein Airtel customers will get free data download of 100 MB per month for six months and pack of Airtel apps like Portfolio Manager, Hello Tune Manager, Weather Channel, Mobshare, In-Mobile search and City Search.
The HTC Hero will be priced at Rs 34,600 in Maharashtra and Rs 31,990 in the rest of India from all authorized HTC resellers in the country.
