Kingston has launched the latest 8GB microSD High-Capacity (SDHC) and 16GB microSD High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash memory cards to its mobile memory storage line.
Kingston 8GB microSDHC cards can store more than 4,000 images from a 5 MP camera phone, 1,500 digital songs, or up to eight hours of video, surpassing storage limits on mobile phones without Flash memory card slots.
Scott Chen, Vice President of APAC Region, Kingston said “Consumers are demanding more from their mobile phones, expecting them to perform as portable music or game players, digital cameras, email communicators, browsers and navigators. Having enough storage capacity, particularly in the form of memory cards, keeps internal device memory free to deliver all this multi-functionality. Our 8GB and 16GB microSDHC cards are so roomy that mobile users can easily move entire digital libraries from a PC to their mobile phones - and beyond,”
It measures 11mm x 15mm x 1mm, the 8 GB microSDHC features 4MB/sec minimum data transfer rate and weighs about 1.4g.
Although the microSDHC format is identical in physical size to the original microSD card, microSDHC is compatible with microSDHC host devices only and not backward compatible with standard microSD-enabled devices or readers.
The new Kingston microSDHC 8GB and 16GB cards are priced at Rs. 1,699 and Rs. 4,499 respectively. The Kingston 8GB microSDHC cards will be shipping immediately.
