LG Electronics officially announced the launch of the new LG Chocolate phone namely the LG-BL40. This is the fourth mobile phone in the iconic LED Black Label Series by the company. It comes covered in a glossy black finish along with curved tempered glass and is offset with red highlights.
This phone comes with a large 4.0 inch touch screen with a 21:9 aspect ratio. The screen has an 800 x 345 pixel resolution that offers splendid viewing quality and capactive touchscreen with multi-touch gesture control. Browsing the Internet is made incredibly easy because with 800 pixels at one’s disposal, there is no need to scroll horizontally to read entire web pages. The Dual Screen UI allows users to display content without the need to scroll the entire web page horizontally.
Dr. Skott Ahn, CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications commented, “The initial response to the new LG Chocolate phone is exceeding our expectations by a wide margin. Although much of the interest seems focused on the striking shape of the handset, the real surprise will be when people discover the advantages of the 4.0-inch screen in terms of viewing pleasure and ease of use.”
The cell phone is designed with a 5-Megapixel auto focus camera with flash and Schneider Kreuznach optics to take amazing photos, video capabilities and other features like 3G, WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth, FM transmitter, stereo for music on the go, accelerometer and an internal memory of 335 MB while a micro-SD memory slot is provided for the external memory. Additionally, the phone will pack in UMTS/ HSDPA facility and GPS for effective navigation.
The HD LCD ‘Real VGA’ screen also provides users with a wide variety of natural colors for displayed images. This makes images more crisp, videos more realistic, and games more high-powered.
The new LG Chocolate will be available beginning Q3 in 54 countries. There is no word on the pricing.
