Motorola has announced the launch of a new rugged Android smartphone namely the Motorola Defy. Motorola Defy is the Motorola’s second rugged Android smartphone after Motorola i1. Motorola Defy is powered by Android 2.1 with MotoBlur 1.5 and 800MHz TI OMAP 3610 processor.

Motorola Defy features a 3.7 inch corning Gorilla Glass display with 480 x 854 pixels resolution, 5 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash, video recording, 512MB RAM, 2GB ROM and microSD card slot for upto 32GB. It is IP67 specifications gives complete protection against dust and it can be submerged in water deep up to a meter.
Motorola Defy also features Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Stereo Bluetooth, A-GPS, 3.5 mm audio jack, USB 2.0, FM radio, music player, 1540 mAh battery and supports HSDPA (900 / 2100 MHZ), GSM/EDGE (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) network. It measures 59 x 107 x 13.4 mm and weighs 118 grams.
Motorola Defy will be available in forth quarter of 2010 in the UK. No detail on pricing as yet.
