Motorola introduced its latest iDEN phone, the Motorola Clutch i465. The Clutch is the company’s first iDEN handset to include a full QWERTY keyboard, The Clutch is one of an increasing number of cheap mobile phones with full QWERTY keyboards for texting.
Clutch offers a full QWERTY keyboard with shortcut keys, IM-style texting and Motorola’s push-to-talk technology. The Clutch is semi-ruggedized and offers PTT, threaded SMS and MMS messaging, as well as POP3 email support. Clutch is military-spec certified for extreme conditions including shock, vibration, dust, and solar radiation.
The i465 also includes a camera with video recording capabilities, which should look sharp on the device’s 1.79-inch, 128×160 TFT display. It has Bluetooth 1.2, VGA camera with video capture, and uses microUSB for charging and data transfer , and 20MB of user-accessible memory.
The Motorola Clutch i465 will be available with Boost Mobile in the second quarter of 2009. Pricing and specific availability have not yet been announced.
