Motorola has officially announced a new touchscreen handset as part of the ROKR range, called the ZN50. The slider phone facilitates users to personalize the interface with multiple screens and presents a full widgetized touchscreen interface.
It comes with new Motorola panorama user interface, which “supports three separate screens, allowing more widgets and shortcuts to be arranged according to usage patterns”.
The new mobile phone comes with a 3.2-inch TFT display that boasts a 240 x 427 pixel resolution, as well as support for 262k colors, along with a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper, 4GB of inbuilt memory and a microSD memory card slot that can provide support for up to 16GB of additional storage space. The handset is powered by a 950 mAh battery, measures 54 x 108.9 x 14.34 mm and weighs 143g.
“ROKR not only offers the best music experience with its outstanding sound quality and intuitive user interface, but also embodies extraordinary design, creating common ground where music and style come together,” said Rick Wolochatiuk, general manager of Motorola Korea Mobile Devices Business. “ROKR allows users to enjoy their music in style anywhere, anytime and will appeal to trendsetters in Korea.”
This phone also comes with a slide-out numeric keypad. Other feature include automatic screen rotation, shake to switch tracks, a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack, Bluetooth stereo headset support, GPS and a battery good for 30 hours of audio playback. There’s also a T-DMB TV tuner, an e-dictionary and support for 7.2Mbps HSDPA for high speed web surfing. The music phone presents SRS WOW HD sound system along with built-in EQ and nifty shake-to-shuffle technology when it comes to playing music.
It is expected to come to the market in two different color versions, namely chic black and red and cool blue and white. Motorola ROKR ZN50’s will be shipping to Korea. The pricing for the Motorola ROKR ZN50 is not yet known.
