Nokia has introduced new Nokia 5230 touchscreen phone with an affordable price range. The Nokia 5230 is designed for those who are keen to experience the touch interface and are looking for an affordable device in this space.
The Nokia 5230 offers users with A-GPS Navigation and Ovi Maps latest version with aerial images, 3D landmarks for over 200 cities and terrain map views for pedestrian and drive navigation. The handset is equipped with advanced 3G networking via HSDPA networks. Nokia 5230 allows its users to send and receive e-mails, as well as to log in to social networking sites such as MySpace or Facebook.
The Nokia 5230 has a 3.2-inch widescreen touch display with full-screen QWERTY keyboard and handwriting recognition. It has a standard 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack. The internal memory of 70MB can be expanded with the help of microSD cards of upto 16GB.The device runs S60 5th Edition on Symbian.
The Nokia 5230 also features a Media Bar that can be customized to offer quick access to favorite applications. The innovative Contacts bar offers images for up to 20 close friends and gives easy access to them and their communications history which include services like emails, phone calls, photos or other social media updates.
Other feature of the phone include EDGE connections, GPS capabilities but lacks GPS, 2 megapixel camera with video recording, Bluetooth, FM radio with RDS, stereo, dedicated music and N-Gage gaming keys. It also provides a convenient music player which has 33 hours of playback time. The phone comes loaded with ability to play almost all types of audio and video files. It measures 111 x 51.7 x 15.5 mm and weighs 115 grams.
The Nokia 5230 is expected to become available in the 4th quarter of this year. The standard version will cost €149and for the premium version comes with Music service will have cost about €259.
