Nokia 5530 XpressMusic Launches in the UK

Nokia have launched the 5530 XpressMusic in the UK. The touchscreen phone should come in the country via Carphone Warehouse, as the retailer managed to get six-week exclusivity on the handset. The 5530 XpressMusic was announced back in June 2009.

Introduced as a cheaper and smaller version of the popular 5800 XpressMusic, The Nokia 5530 features a 2.9-inch touchscreen display, a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, 70MB of internal memory, 4GB memory-card storage, and Symbian S60 5th Edition, photo and video editing along with MP3 player and media player.

Other features include a 3.5mm standard audio jack and stereo speakers, quad-band GSM connectivity, Wi-Fi, yet it does not include some high-end capabilities like a GPS receiver or 3G connectivity. It weighs in at just 107 grams and comes in a choice of 5 colors.

The phone will be available from August 11 onwards on pay-as-you-go for £130 and is already available for an online pre-order. No word yet on when exactly the Nokia 5530 XM will be available in other European markets.
