Nokia have officially unveiled the E72 – their new QWERTY smartphone and a new 5530 XpressMusic at the Connection 09 event in Singapore.

The E72 is possibly the bigger announcement of the two, succeeding the E71 by adding a gigantic 5 megapixel camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack, integrated compass, 10.2Mbps HSDPA, and an optical navigation pad. Nokia say the S60 handset features a “desktop like email experience”.

The rest of the Nokia E72 features are pretty same as the E71 – S60 3rd edition UI, a 2.4″ QVGA landscape screen, microSD card slot and FM radio. On the connectivity end we’ve got WLAN, A-GPS, FM radio and quad-band GSM, Bluetooh and USB onboard.

The Nokia E72 will begin shipping late in the third quarter of 2009. It will be available in Zodium Black, Metal Grey and Topaz Brown. It expected price tag is $485 before subsidies and taxes with a 4GB microSD card in the box and a lifetime license for Nokia messaging.

Nokia 5530 features a big touchscreen display that is 2.9 inches wide capable of display at 640×360 pixels, a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, a 3.5 mm headset jack, 70MB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 16GB via MicroSD, Bluetooth 2.0, and WiFi.

According to the company, the homescreen of the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic also comes with one touch shortcuts to popular social networks such as Facebook and MySpace, as well as to different content. The new device comes as a follower of the already popular Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and features a solid stainless steel frame finish.

Nokia 5530 XpressMusic will start shipping in five different colors in third quarter of 2009. Its expected price is around $275 before subsides and taxes.
