Olive Telecommunication has launched India’s first ever 3G Embedded Netbooks dubbed as Zipbooks.
The Olive Zipbooks are powered by Qualcomm’s QSC6085 chipset and support EV-DO.
The Zipbooks comes with the Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB DDR2 memory and 160GB (variations) HDD. Weighing less than 1.3 kg, the Zipbooks are wi-fi enabled and have Windows XP as the operating system and available in four colors.
The Olive Zipbooks will be launched in two versions EV-DO (using Tata Teleservices’ network) and HSPA (using BSNL’s network). The EVDO based Netbooks will be available to consumer from select Tata Indicom Stores and through the Tata Photon channel. For the HSPA version based netbooks, it would be made available in all BSNL 3G circles.
The company also launched 7 models of mobile phones starting at Rs. 999. These include 2 touch screen phones – Olivepwrr and Olivetouch; Olivemsgr – the QWERTY keypad phone; 2 candy bar phones - Olivecompacta and Oliveglide and 2 dual sim/dual standby phones – V-G400 (clamshell) and V-G500 (slider).
The Olive Zipbooks will retail for under Rs 23,000.
