Olympus has launched the latest model in its mju Tough digital camera range, the 6010: a freeze-proof, shock-proof and waterproof camera designed to withstand tough weather conditions.
The mju TOUGH-6010 has a standard 12-megapixel camera with 3.6X zoom. It is waterproof to a depth of 9.8 feet, can withstand temperature extremes down to at least and provides shockproof protection against drops of up to 1.5m on standard test conditions.
The camera features a 2.7-inch HyperCrystal III LCD, measures 95 x 63 x 22 mm and weighs 149g. It features dual image stabilisation, and tap control, and uses xD-Picture Card. The camera comes with microSD card compatibility.
Other modes include i-Auto, which automatically adjusts camera settings to one of five recognized commonly-used scenes. In addition, Advanced Face Detection Technology detects up to 16 faces for consistent quality across group portraits. Further, there’s a Beauty Mode claiming to smooth out imperfections.
Olympus introduces assorted Magic Filters, which echo different styles of photo. These include pinhole, pop art and fish-eye. Imagine using fish-eye lens underwater while snapping picures of fish.
The ยต Tough-6010 is available in Titanium Grey, Turquoise Blue, and Lava Red colour schemes. The Olympus Tough-6010 will be available in Europe initially at a price tag of 300 euros (Rs. 20,500 approximately).
