Tata DOCOMO and Samsung Mobile have announced the launch of the first Android-powered Samsung mobile phone that comes preloaded with Google Mobile services—Samsung Galaxy (i7500)—in India. Samsung Galaxy is the World’s Slimmest Android Phone with just 11.9-mm thickness.
The Samsung Galaxy sports a 3.2” AMOLED full touch-screen as well as7.2 Mbps HSDPA with WiFi connectivity. It comes with 5 Mega Pixel camera, supports various multimedia formats and Internal Memory of 8 GB and Expandable External Memory up to 32 GB. The 1500mAh battery of this handset claims to provide a longer battery life.
Android is an open-source operating system for mobiles and wireless devices, initially developed by Google, which allows developers to design applications independent of the handset type. The handset also comes loaded with most of google services like Gmail, Gtalk, Maps Search, Youtube.
Under the deal, Samsung and Tata DOCOMO would launch ‘Galaxy handset’ and provide 500 MB free download per month for a period of 6 months in the circles where the telecom company is presently operating.
Samsung Galaxy is available at an introductory price of Rs 28,990.
