Samsung have announced a pair of touchscreen cellphones, the Samsung Star S5230 and the Samsung Preston S5600 for the global markets. Sporting a compact design and innovative features, these handsets claim to bring to users a full touch phone at an affordable price.
The Samsung Star S5230 is a 2.5G phone measures just 11.9mm thick and has a 3.2-megapixel camera capable of recording QVGA resolution video at up to 15fps. Internal storage is 50MB, expandable to 8GB via a memory card slot. Adopting a 3.0-inch WQVGA full-touch screen and Samsung’s TouchWiz User Interface with Mobile Widgets.
The Samsung Preston attracts style-conscious users with its slim and compact design. Samsung Preston S5600 comes integrated with a 2.8-inch QVGA full-touch screen along with TouchWiz User Interface and Gesture Lock feature. The mobile widgets add to your convenience while some of its other features include full Internet browsing, support for accelerometer sensor, 7.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity, 3.2 mega-pixel camera and Shazam’s Find Music service.The handset’s generous memory (80MB and Micro SD slot up to 8GB) ensures ample storage space for multimedia content. Samsung Preston will be available in Sweet pink, Snow white, and Charcoal grey colors.This handset also supports multi-codec such as H.263, MPEG4 and WMV.
In the press release JK Shin, the head of their Mobile Division, said,”Samsung Star and Samsung Preston are significant additions to our full-touch screen mobile portfolio, featuring all the essential functions in one single device. I am pretty confident that the products will be one of our historical best selling mobiles.”
Samsung Star S5230 is available now, in Europe, Middle East Africa, Asia and Latin America. Samsung Preston S5600 will be available later this month, but only in Europe and Asia. No pricing information has been made available yet but Samsung claims 2 million of the handsets have already been pre-ordered.

I don’t know how this is possible, since every other website was selling just the camera for 200 dollars. This came with the camera (new in the box) and so much else for only like 10 dollars more. Everything was new in their respective box. It is fantastic
