Sony officially announce Three DSLR Cameras -Alpha DLSR-A230, Alpha DSLR-A330 and Alpha DSLR-380

Sony has announced three new entry-level DSLRs – digital single-lens reflex cameras Alpha DLSR-A230, Alpha DSLR-A330 and Alpha DSLR-380, which are the respective substitutes of the A200, A300 and A350. These models are lightweight and user-friendly, with more guided functions.

All three new cameras possess of dual memory slots – one for SDHC cards and the other for Sony’s proprietary Memory Stick Duo. Other features common to the three models are – APS-C size CCD sensors; 2.7-inch LCD; Bionz image processors; lens mounts; built-in pop-up flash; hot shoe; and in-built image stabilization.

The Alpha DSLR A230 and Alpha DSLR A330 come with a 10.2-megapixel camera; The A-230 weighs 15.9oz (450g) lightest in all three. The Alpha DSLR A230 features SteadyShot Inside image stabilization, on-screen Help Guide, Graphic Display, 2.7-inch Clear Photo LCD Plus display and high sensitivity ISO 3200.The Alpha DSLR A330 features Live View with Quick Auto Focus, SteadyShot Inside image stabilization, on-screen Help Guide, Graphic Display and a 2.7-inch Clear Photo LCD Plus display.

The main differences between the Alpha DSLR A230 and the Alpha DSLR A330 are that the A330 comes with a swivel LCD screen while the A230 comes with a fixed LCD screen. The A330 weighs somewhat more than the A230. The A230 differs from the A330 by the viewfinder. A330′s viewfinder has 95 percent coverage and 0.74x magnification while A230′s viewfinder has the same coverage, but 0.83x magnification.

The Alpha DSLR A380 has a 14.4-megapixel camera, also has Sony’s “quick autofocus technology” that enables the user to frame photos on the camera’s LCD screen as well as in the optical viewfinder. The technology avoids the focus delay common in less-expensive cameras.

In addition, the three DSLR cameras feature a new software interface, which facilitates an inexpert SLR users understanding and adjustment of camera settings; as well as an HDMI video-out for previewing images on an HDTV.

The Alpha DSLR-A230 and Alpha DSLR-A330, priced at $550 and $650 respectively while the Alpha DSLR-A380 priced at $850. The Alpha DSLR A230 and Alpha DSLR A380 will be available in black color only, whereas the Alpha DSLR A330 will be available in black as well as brown.
