Toshiba India announced the availability of their Premier Series—the Satellite M500 in India. This notebook comes in Premier Black color chassis with Champagne Gold Patterns. The LCD cover of the notebooks comes with a fusion finish based on IMR (In-Mould Rolling) technology with a Sonic Boom AERO design.
The notebook features a 14 inch high definition LED backlight display with Clear SuperView technology, and a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio that offers a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and a luminance of 260 NITs, the display is not Full-HD. The notebook features built in HD webcam with mic capable of recording high quality video, Harmon Kardon speakers. The keyboard comes with flat keys in matt black finish.
Pre-loaded with Windows Vista Home Premium (SP1, 64-bit), Toshiba Satellite M500 comes packed with Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T6500 and a minimum of 3 GB of RAM, 320GB HDD 5400 RPM storage and dual-layer DVD-SuperMulti optical drive and Intel GMA 4500MHD with 128MB-1759MB dynamically allocated shared graphics memory usable for HD multimedia viewing over the HDMI port.
The notebook comes with a built-in 3D motion sensor hard drive protection that monitors free-falls, shock and vibration, and prepares the drive head for impact. The touchpad features multi-touch, and the laptop also has a fingerprint scanner. A unique feature is the addition of Toshiba’s REGAZA-Link. This allows the laptop to be controlled with a TV’s remote control when connected via HDMI. The notebook only works with Toshiba’s own TVs.
This Satellite model also offers FireWire, two USB 2.0 ports and one eSATA/USB 2.0 combo port with Sleep-and-Charge functions. The M500 supports WLAN (802.11 a/g/n) for wireless Internet connectivity. Other features include Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, a DVD-RW drive, input touch controls, multi-touch track pad, eco-mode for energy saving, memory card reader and ExpressCard slot.
Toshiba Satellite M500 is available at Rs 53,490.
