Nokia has announced the launch of the new Nokia 2705 Shade a low-cost colorful clamshell on Verizon Wireless in the US. The compact, light-weight handset is one of Verizon’s smallest devices. The flip phone is offered in two versions, with and without camera.
It features VZ Navigator compatibility for turn-by-turn GPS directions, switchable covers, a 1.3-megapixel camera along with text, picture and voice messaging capabilities, Micro USB 2.0, the 2705 is said to store around 1000 contacts. It is inclusive of VZ NavigatorSM capability that facilitates users to access around 15 million points of interest.
It also supports many Bluetooth profiles such as hands-free, basic printing, headset, phonebook access and object push for vCard and vCalender. The latest offering from Nokia and Verizon is Micro USB 2.0 compatible and allows access to Mobile Web. The 2705 Shade comes with interchangeable covers, which are sold separately, and which enable users to choose the colors for personalization. The colorful 2705 is built with a large display and save around 1,000 contacts.
The device would be initially available as an online exclusive. The Nokia Shade with camera will be available online beginning Oct. 6 at www.verizonwireless.com for value of US $29.99 with a new two-year customer agreement. Nokia will offer interchangeable Xpress-on covers to complement this black phone. The covers will be made available in Red, Blue and purple color options for a price of $19.99 each.
