Western Digital launches 1TB Mobile hard drive

Western Digital has announced two new mobile hard drives for the Indian market. These Mobile Hard Drives offers an incredible storage capacity. The drives are powered by 333GB-per-platter technology, and have huge capacity to store data – offering storage up to 1 TB. The latest Scorpio Blue 2.5? hard drive series offers up to 1TB capacity. The company has also brought out a 750GB mobile hard drive.

The WD Scorpio Blue 750 GB and 1 TB hard drives have a 12.5 mm form factor and are ideally suited for use in portable storage solutions, such as the newly released My Passport Essential SE Portable USB Drives. These storage devices offer a remarkable transfer rate of 3 gigabits per second.

The drives use Whisper Drive technology which makes them totally noise-free. They also support shock tolerance technology, with the highest combined shock tolerance specifications. In addition, the SecurePark feature facilitates improved long-term reliability due to less head wear and improved shock tolerance as it ensures that the recording head never touches the disk surface

The Scorpio Blue WD drives are build to consume low power and delivery high performance especially making it ideal for use where cool and quite operation are important in selected notebooks and Desktops. The WD hard drives measures 12.5mm and supports the SATA2 (3Gbps) standard.

The 1TB drive is priced at Rs 12,980 and the 750GB at Rs.9880. WD is offering a 5 years limited warranty for the Scorpio Blue hard drives.
